Friendly co-op – dark souls prepare to die edition message board for pc

Hi all you PC Ptde players, i was wondering with all the talk about how hard it is to get summoned how hard would it be to Co-Op the entire game with a friend? Is summoning that broken that you cannot summon someone who is exactly your SL?

It works off of lobbies, and the range is +/- 10 and 10% of your SL. So if you’re SL 100, you can summon someone up to 20 SL above or below you, because it’s 10 levels and then 10% if your SL. Summoning friends is not easy and that’s how it’s intended to be. If you don’t like that, then either jump through hoops by logging out over and over until you can be summoned/summon your friend (won’t work everywhere, and area boss must be alive to summon), adapt and play co-op normally with randoms, play offline/hollow, or just give up and leave.

Haha, thanks for the detailed explanation m8 but i should have mentioned that I’m aware of how the summoning / invasions work in Dark Souls 🙂

All i asked is do White summoning stones actually work or is it difficult (bug-ed like it was on the consoles when the game came) to summon someone?
Me & my friend plan to Co-Op the entire game, sector bye sector & not straying for more than a few SL from one another.

This may seem like a stupid question but many have stated that it’s impossible for them to summon / get summoned.

Sry for the double post but i forgot to mention is that I’m not familiar with the new lobby system.
In regular DKS all you had to do if you had trouble summoning or being summoned is to re-start the game so the game puts you & the friend you are trying to summon in the same server. it wasn’t anything visible but that’s how it worked. i think 😛

Depends on how the servers are, and you won’t be able to co-op everywhere, some areas don’t allow them. The final area will also force one of you to beat the game without the other since whoever beats Gwyn first moves into NG+ first. As for always getting your friend/friend getting you, I highly doubt that can happen. You have no control over who summons you, which can mean your friend will be summoned by a host using the Drake Sword and Knight Shield, while you are getting invaded in the parish and die (likely to a hacker).

Edit: From what I can gather, it’s not like the lobby where you sit in until the game starts up, but a P2P lobby that is more random if anything. It’s always been something I never really understood.

Yeah i know m8, since my main account is filled with characters on whom most are on Ng+ or ++ i have to create a new Acc for the PTDE so i can get more SL 100 chars. most of my old crew are around 109-120 SL so the Arena 100 bracket will be off limits & will get stuck with SL 200 d-bags 😛

Also, need to get another mule on the new acc before the DLC so i can have fresh chars with all the gear since farming is not my cup of tea. PvP is 😀

On the PC i will do a fresh run with a friend who never played DKS. boy is he in for a treat 😀

Ohh, PvPing with a buddy/buddies, sounds like a host with two phantoms in the Forest/Kiln/Dark Anor Londo, all buffed and ready to farm invaders. The arena is mostly Free for All and heavily biased towards Faith builds from what very little I have seen of it.

A far as PvP goes i only duel, never in my 1000h+ did i summon someone & farm ppl. it’s pathetic but i do love others who do that since 1v2 or 1v3 is my personal best PvP fun time 😀

No, i only plan to Co-Op with a friend & concerning Arena, yes i do believe Faith build have an advantage since they can Heal between fights. in my opinion it finally makes sense to have a Heal spell since Heal spells were in the shadow of Estus, Humanity & Blessing who all had shorter use/cast times & more healing.

Then you should be good to go, more or less. Just pick a starting class that fits Faith for up to SL 100, provided you’re going for that bracket.
